Charlie Redmayne, CEO of Pottermore, reports that the Harry Potter ebooks have generated over 1 million sterling in sales during their launch week. AND their sales have far outpaced those of the print books during their first weeks.
Interesting thing about these ebooks – they are eminently sharable.
As soon as their sale was announced, I zipped onto the site and downloaded the complete set, and made them available to my older daughter and myself (for a total of 3 devices) via Amazon. I made them available to my younger daughter (for a total of 2 devices) via Nook. In other words, I dispersed 7 books over 5 devices.
I only paid once.
Clearly this is not cutting into Pottermore’s sales.
Perhaps it’s a Geminio spell.
