Well, the books I encountered, at least….
Gus Balbontin took us to El Ateneo, a bookstore that was created out of a grand old theater. It was, naturally, amazing.
And the ceiling was rather Sistine Chapel-ish.
Later on, Liz and I passed a long row of book stalls. One hot title seemed to be the Steve Jobs biography. Also, Twilight.
Liz noted that all the used paperbacks were wrapped in plastic. One of the book dealers told us it was to keep the books clean, but Liz remarked that shrink-wrapping them is a form of social DRM.
