This is one of those days where everything seems sort of poised, but not yet occurring. Bernardo’s winding down the semester, which means he’s immersed in paper grading; he can see the light at the end of the tunnel but he’s still got a ways to go before he gets there. We have gardening to do, but today it’s raining. The Venetian plaster is going on the walls, but Mario is busy at another job for the next few days. I get my cortisone shot tomorrow (it was delayed), and meanwhile I have no sense of what I’ll be able to do afterwards, so I can’t make many plans. Not much is going on news-wise.
It’s an in-between day. We golfed this morning in the drizzle, and now I am curled up in my armchair with a book and some knitting. There may quite possibly be a nap. Desultory, definitely relaxing, much-needed. If anyone needs me, I’ll be in the ground, getting ready to grow.
